Great Ohio Lake to River Greenway 20, 40, and 68-Mile Bike Ride
Come out for a ride! This is part of a trail ride series sponsored by the Ohio River Trail Council (ORTC) intended to bring awareness to the wonderful trails in our quad-state region (Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia). All cyclists are welcome for this rails-to-trails, moderate-paced ride.
Join us, as we visit the Western Reserve Greenway portion of the Great Ohio Lake to River Greenway. This scenic ride departs from Warren, Ohio. The World of Wildlife (WOW) Bicycle Tour features the Western Reserve Greenway in Northeast Ohio's Trumbull and Ashtabula counties. Riders choose to bike 20, 40 or any distance up to 68 miles. Except for the first and last miles on public roads, WOW 2014 travels on the Western Reserve Greenway, an asphalt-paved, dedicated bike trail. The out-and-back ride is a "rain or shine" ride.
Do not forget your camera!

Features and Points of Interest
The Western Reserve Greenway is part of the Great Ohio Lake-to-River Greenway in eastern Ohio. This greenway extends from Lake Erie near Ashtabula, Ohio south to a point near East Liverpool along the Pennsylvania border.
The proposed Ohio River Trail beginning at Coraopolis links the Montour Trail to the 110-mile Great Ohio Lake-to-River Greenway in Ohio forming approximately a 500-mile contiguous trail from the Great Lakes Region to our nation’s capitol!
Proceeds of WOW are targeted for the local funds needed for Trumbull County's Phase 4 of the Western Reserve Greenway, the section between Warren and Niles. Past rides have funded the pavilion materials at the Oakfield Trailhead, trail sealing and other projects. More than $40,000 has been raised since the first WOW Ride.
The first WOW Ride was held in 2005, with 154 registrants. Other years' rider totals: 2006-233, 2007-311, 2008-382, 2009-292, 2010-280, 2011-326, 2012-353, and 2013-380
The Western Reserve Greenway passes through large sections of premier wetlands, home to much wildlife and many species of rare and endangered plant life. You might see a groundhog, deer, river otter, beaver or—if you are observant—a bald eagle. Riders will also pass through the Mosquito Lake Wildlife Area where the Ohio Department of Natural Resources has erected an observation deck.
WOW is a supported ride, with refreshment stops on or near the Greenway and pizza and other refreshments at the conclusion of the ride.
